Paradigm Cinema 70CT Subwoofer Recalled

Hazard:  The amplifier in the subwoofer can overheat when the speaker system is played at high outputs for an extended period of time, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

The firm has received two reports of subwoofers in the United States overheating; one subwoofer caught fire and the other subwoofer emitted smoke. No injuries have been reported.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these subwoofers.


Remedy:  Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled subwoofer, disconnect the affected unit and contact Paradigm Consumer Service for further instructions.
